We are hiring in our Vancouver store for a Part-time position immediately!
What are we looking for?
- Availability on weekends
- 12+ hours/week to start
- Permanent position: we want you around as long as possible! Coming into the holiday shopping season, there will definitely be more hours up for grabs.
- Related retail experience is a big plus, obviously, but we do not consider this a requirement. What is the most important is your personality, attitude and willingness to learn!
- You should have interest in the areas of home decor, decorating, design, organization and style (basically, you should be familiar with the products we sell!), have a genuine passion for customer service and be a multi-tasking machine.
If you think you fit the bill and would love to join our team, or if you know someone else who would, please stop by the store anytime to say Hello! and drop off your resume (preferred) or you can email Tanis- tanis@paboom.com

Product review
Hi! Welcome to a new featurette on the blog- Staff Product Reviews!
Product: "Beauty Junky" Purifying Cucumber Peel-off Gel Mask $2.95

I'm not normally the face-mask type. I'm no "Beauty Junky". I think I bought this intending it to be a useful easy to mail gift (small, flat, light) but the other night I was just in the mood to be spa-like, I guess, since I decided to try it out on myself instead. First of all, there was more than enough for 1 application, I saved at least 1/2 the package for another time (put it in a ziploc so it don't dry out!Bonus!!). It was really gel-like and thick, but translucent- a pretty cool texture and pretty cooling on the face. The scent was fresh and... refreshing, but not overwhelming or sweet (good thing, I hate super scenty products-ew). The BEST PART was definitely feeling it harden up and get super smooth when it dried and then peeling it all off. I admit, I left it on way longer than the 15 minutes it suggested (I was watching a movie, lost track of time, can you blame me?) but I don't think it made too much difference; it still peeled off perfectly (like, reealllly sasisfyingly in one big piece, just like Patrick Bateman.)
Afterwards? My face felt smoother than smooth, not tight or traumatized into a toned state, just relaxed, clean and deep-cleaned. I'm super stoked on using up the rest. I might even be hooked on this "facial treatments" thing for good.

Welcome to a week of great GIFT IDEAS!
All of us have at least a few of those tough to buy for types of folks on our lists each year. Instead of some boring gift card or mundane token, let us help you brainstorm up a personal and unexpected winning gift this holiday! We have all been having a load of fun (almost TOO much fun really...) coming up with some pretty swell/silly/swanky gift ideas for all different kinds of people.....
Gift recipient: "The Time-Management Freak"
Gift Idea: Hourglass Desk Clock ($44.95)- "This is one of the coolest clocks I've ever seen! It's also super-precise- make every minute count!"- from Regan (Vancouver) who would be overjoyed to receive a few extra hours each day for Xmas this year. Boy oh boy, me too!

Gift Idea: Crazy about cats set: Lenticular (holographic!) kitty stuff- placemats, cups and trash bins ($3.95, $3.95, $15.95). " So CUUUUTTE and so CRAZZZZY"- from Annika (Vancouver) who is a self-professed crazy cat lady herself, so I guess she knows all about it.
